Slept in way too late. ;P Blast that History Channel and its alluring educational programming. I got myself all caught up in watching a program about medical technology in Ancient Rome. I'm fascinated that they performed cataract surgeries and had traction beds.

After watching some of the "Muppet Show-Season 1" that James bought me I got ready to go see "Corpse Bride." Went to the Union City theatre, where they seemed to be having a lot of audio problems. The performers on the previews sounded like the Darleks from Doctor Who. Not quite how I want to listen to my movie, thank you.

I agree with Dragon's assessment of the film. The story was cute and I loved the animation. The character designs were cute, but I think it was a much simpler storyline than in "Nightmare Before Christmas" and there really weren't any catchy/memorable song numbers. They certainly succeeded in making a dead gal look really cute though.
Got back home a bit before my Grandparents showed up and was able to tidy up my room a bit. I should work on that today too, I have so many things that I could probably get rid of(after I sleep for a while though).

Grammie Furlong showed up first and then my Grandparents got here with my Great-Aunt Karen. Auntie Karen gave me a birthday gift. She certainly didn't have to do that. She gave me a lovely little sculpture of a swan that she had had at her house. ^_^ I haven't the faintest idea where I am going to put it because I already have so many little ornamental things out that I have really run out of places to display things. I will have to find somewhere to put it. Apparently my Grandparents sent me a card from Red Bluff, I haven't received it yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

My Mother made a wonderful dinner of Hungarian Goulash and Zucchini Quiche. I asked her to make them for me when she asked what I would like served at my birthday dinner. Shrug. Perhaps not the typical request, but they are some of my favorite dishes that my Mother makes, they're really good. =)

Dragon showed up since I had some pirate ship cards that had been mailed to me for her and she stayed for most of the evening and shared dinner and a very lopsided, disintegrating/delicious cake with us. She and my Aunt Karen enjoyed joking about their shared name.

James had to go home for bed after dinner since he has school today. He called me from home to tell me that he got a bill for his school loan already! Crap! I thought they weren't supposed to start billing him till after he was done with school! Blast it! He's going to have to charge it to his one credit card. What the hell?! He doesn't have any money right now. Not really. The only reason he has been able to give me these wonderful b-day gifts was that he bought them about six months in advance.

My sister called during the dinner and got to talk with the grandparents, my folks, Dragon, Aunt Karen, and me. She should be coming out in mid-October to visit again. It was a wonderful birthday.
Need bed now. Goodnight.

When I went to see The Phantom of the Opera movie for like the 5th time... I went to a theater where the sound was screwed up. The singing and the instruments were making wobbily sounds... it was horrible! (I got free tickets out of it though)

I want to see Corpse Bride so bad! My cousins went to see it and they told me it was wonderful.

1. Happy birthday, girlfriend!!! I tried calling you the other day to sing the Happy-Happy Birthday song to you (badly...*grin*), but I don't think I have your correct home number because some old person answered. Can you email me your number, so I can call you and do this properly? ^_^

2. James is going to school again? When did this happen? And he's getting billed already? That doesn't sound right. Have him call me. I'm the Financial Aid Queen, you know, and am privy to all the little insy-outy rules of this game. Maybe we can get him straightened out, and de-inflate the worry about ruining his credit history and stressing him out.

Thank you! ^_^
James has been going to school for a while now to be a Dialysis Technician.
Well, he doesn't have to stress about it ruining his credit history. When he first spoke with me about his intentions to quit work and get trained in a different field I promised him that I would pay toward his credit card bills every month.
I do think he should speak with someone and have a look at his contract with them to try and figure out why he is being billed already since he isn't making any money yet. ;p

Singing the Happy Birthday song badly is a family tradition. ^_^
