Yesterday was James' birthday. I got to spend the day with him since I offered my hours to a new coworker; I figured that she would be willing and eager to get some more hours since management has only been scheduling her for about fourteen hours. I know I should probably be more worried about my finances, but I'm really doing pretty well right now and besides, September is always an active month for me what with all the birthdays. I'm going to have to find someone to work for me some next week too since we just got word from Heather that she'll be coming down from Oregon next week for her birthday.
We started off James' birthday by going out for an immense breakfast at Country Way and then came home to watch some films. James had been wanting to show me "Brazil" and we watched a film called "Dead and Breakfast." For the love of all that is green and beautiful do not watch that film! The box had mentioned zombies, etc. so it sounded like it could be campy good fun. It was an awful movie! Don't hurt yourself by watching that crap. Write down the name and be sure to warn others away from it. Okay, moving on..."Brazil" was interesting in a "1984/Fahrenheit 451" sort of way.
I gave James his gifts: Box-set of "Star Trek the Original Series-Season 2," a book called "It's Not Easy Being Green," and "Sin City: Family Values."
Around eight or so we went to Pearl's Cafe to try to get a table. I figured they wouldn't be too crowded on a Thursday evening. Had a lovely dinner and lovely desserts. We had an interesting dinner conversation on religion. After dinner we rented "Ring 2" and a western that Eddie Izzard starred in (the Eddie Izzard film was very...odd). James said he had a wonderful birthday thanks to me. ^_^
