YES! Charity Concert is a Go!

Vienna Teng just called to say that she will be available for doing a Katrina Victims Charity Concert for us on September 24th! We have so much to do! We have to figure out which charity to contribute the money to (the Red Cross is good about being one of the first on the scene during a disaster, but only so much of money donated to them actually goes to the victims), we need to advertise....there is so much that will need to be done in such a small amount of time, but I'm very excited! =D

No it isn't, but we wanted to do it quickly while the disaster was still very much on people's minds. The general public tends to have a very brief attention span about such things. This one will be held at a local coffee shop that had already agreed to host music events with us arranging and helping run things. We'll be able to fit many more people there.

Sounds like a plan! We'll all have to be put to work if we are going to make this happen. =) Perhaps we'll need a brainstorming session to figure out what everyone involved can contribute to getting this arranged.

Oh heck, I don't know, I don't get told anything. It may be that it was "on hold" because we hadn't booked anyone to do the performance. I think it's an excellent idea though. I would certainly be willing to donate a couple of pieces to it.

If you do have an art auction I expect you'll probably want to do a 'silent' auction format. That way the papers can be set out next to the art throughout the performance/food/etc. and you won't have a disruptive 'live' auction at the performance.

I know her personally. We're not close friends, but my parents had her do a house concert when she was just starting out before she had signed on with Vert records.
