Sigh. Amazing how even when I am working a partial shift (5-11:30) that the evening still had the ability to drag on endlessly. It wasn't so bad once David freed me from standing at the register and let me run about the store putting stuff away. I really do like doing that sort of stuff a lot more than I like cashiering. It's a lot easier if you get to move about. I don't go in till five today too. Strange, but good I guess. I only had two hours cut this week and it gives me more time to spend with James. (and I definitely like doing that)! =)
Working the registers has become so increasingly stressful the last couple of weeks. Corporate keeps slashing our staffing hours so we end up with only a couple of people working. That very often leaves me standing at the counter with this big line of people staring at me while I desperately try paging for help that never ever shows up or they finally show up when I only have something like two people in line. I've been getting that overwhelming desire to pull off my name tag and walk out the door and not come back. Not even bother quitting. I wonder how long it would take for someone to notice that I had deserted my post and had gone AWOL. Sigh...not much longer till my anniversary date and my vacation time rolls over again.
I bought this adorable Gund plush duck at the store. James wants one for in his car. I think he probably has a sufficient number of ducks as is, but a plush one would probably be a cute addition. I must confess to enjoying getting to buy cute toys and hold onto them for a few months to a year and then donate them. Getting to play with them then give them away seems like the perfect arrangement.
Since I didn't work till five yesterday James and I were able to go to the comic book store before I had to report in. James found an Elseworld comic for himself and I picked up Achromatic one and three. I had had a copy of number one before, heck, I was there for the signing! I had it in one of my shoulder bags and a cough drop partially melted on it! Eeeewwww! That made it beyond salvaging obviously. It was kind of nice to have an excuse to go to the comic book store though.
