James and I had a good time this Halloween weekend, all worrying about my Grandmother aside.

I was able to make it to both parties that James and I had been invited to since Kim gave me a eleven till six-thirty shift. The day went by quickly, I'd sort of forgotten how fast a day shift flies by. Course, it's just about impossible to get out on time too. Uh..excuse me, no...my register is closed. Hey! Where'd my coworker who is supposed to be taking over ringing for me go? Phooey! So it was a quarter till seven by the time I actually made it out of there and then James and I went back to my place so I could get changed into my Elle costume and we could MapQuest where my friend Jennifer lives. James' kilt had finally arrived! He came dressed in his family tartan to get me at work. ^_^ It looks so right on him.
Headed over to Jennifer's where I got to see Dragon, [livejournal.com profile] mikesama , [livejournal.com profile] monkeysminion, [livejournal.com profile] lianleviathan, and Stride for a while before the party broke up so some could go home, some could venture onward to another party, and many could go to the Pirates of Emerson. There was a little girl dressed as a Princess that seemed quite taken with talking to me. I learned that she wants to be a vet, that she likes math, etc. =) Very cute. James and I were only there for about an hour. Since our Jedi robes had come that day too I wore the Jedi robe over my nurse outfit and took the robe off once I got inside. Elle Driver in disguise as a Nurse in disguise as a Dark Sith Lord....hmmmm.
2nd Party was entertaining. Saw a guy dressed as a beer that definitely sounded as though he was a little full of beer. Met James' friend Danny's girlfriend, Tanya. She seems very nice, if my voice hadn't still been pretty fried from all the allergy crap I could have visited a little better. Shame. Saw a couple dressed as Van Helsing and one of Dracula's Brides...they got a lot friendlier than I recall them being in the movie. We were there for about two hours and then both elected to head back home to Fremont, we were both worn out.
Halloween!: Putzed around the house and then agreed that we were going to go over to a steak house on Mowry called Jerricho's. I decided to just do the Dark Sith Lord look for the day so I dragged out a form fitting full length black velvet high-collared sleeveless dress to wear with my black Jedi robe. With small fishnet stockings and three inch heels (making me 5'11") I felt ready to lure a Scotsman over to the Dark Side of the Force. (heheehehee...) Had a very nice dinner...the decor is interesting. They are trying for a medieval castle look with heraldry banners hung on the walls, sword crests, and Knight figures mounted on the wall. They need to take it a little further, but it was interesting. We had a lovely dinner and then went to see whether or not Hollywood Video had a copy of the David Bowie movie "The Hunger." Called the Dragon over to watch it with us. It was...uh..... I'm not sure where I sit on that film. It wasn't bad...it was sort of intriguing. I think I generally like stuff that is a little more overtly Vampire than that was. The thing the Lady Master Vampire did with her old companions was pretty creepy and dreadful, but other than that it wasn't terribly creepy.
Nov. 1st: Our five year Anniversary. My Grammie Furlong asked me to do her a favor and to get married before she passes away. Sigh...yes Grammie. We went out to dinner to Market Broiler which was where we went for our first dinner together five years ago. We planned out questions to ask my relatives in Sweden so we can try moving forward with plans for going over to Sweden and Norway.
