My Father told me about this...

My Aunt Patty heard about this from a Nurse when she went to the doctor's office for an appointment. Apparently this has been happening around the country. A couple approach you offering to sell you "copy-cat" perfume and get you to sniff the bottle. The bottle is actually ether. It doesn't knock you out all the way, just enough to get you loopy so they can rob you. It has turned up in Fremont. The Nurse (who told my aunt about it and was the one approached in Fremont). told them that she had allergies and didn't sniff the bottle. Be careful.

I know this sort of thing has been in email circulation before and is even debunked on some hoax sites, but members of my family know someone who was at least approached by a couple with perfume they wanted her to smell so I would advise erring on the side of caution whenever you are approached by a stranger. Just because it has been found to be a hoax before doesn't mean someone couldn't get the bright idea to give it a try.
