Trying to set up James and I going to Norway and Sweden next year. It would be wonderful if it worked out, I've wanted to go for some time now. I need to try to get in touch with my family there first to see about the possibility of a night or two of accommodations, whether they would be free to show us any of the sites, etc. The family in Sweden have a yearly reunion so I'm trying to get contact information for them to try to find out when that is being held so we could try to plan around being there for that. I sent an email to a cousin in Southern Cal who speaks Swedish very well and hopefully will be able to help me track them down and get in touch with them. I think my Aunt Patty may have an address for me to get in touch with the family in Norway. My great-aunt Madeline had tried finding our family in Sweden years ago by doing a genealogy search, but was only able to track down one person. Gary, with his knowledge of the language was able to track down a lot of family in Sweden and I would love a chance to get to see them. Hopefully he'll get in touch with me soon and I can get that ball rolling. Even if it didn't work out to do it this year it would be nice to have contact information for them so I could keep in touch with them and it would be easier to arrange a trip at some point. I'm hoping that sometime in late May of 2005 will work though. My Mom picked up a book called, "Norwegian in 10 minutes a Day." =) I won't be fluent, but I thought it would be nice to learn a few phrases in Swedish and Norwegian to be polite, show my interest.
