Heh, back in 2005, I was in the LA County Museum of Art checking out the wing of Impressionist paintings from the State Pushkin Museum-- Van Gogh, Cezanne and Matisse among them--- works that had not been seen in the West for almost a century. There were dealers back then that avidly collected Impressionist pieces from France as a push towards modernity-- when Russia closed off, the pieces became state treasures. I fervently hope the stuff gets returned and is not doomed to hang in a mob boss' bathroom for all time.
