Children vs. Artists

Artists vs. children Art showdown!

An interesting concept. I must say it is far cuter as a children's drawing and somewhat creepy more actualized in the artist version, but it is interesting. I doubt I will be trying this with any of the drawings from the children in my classroom anytime soon.

that ia amazing I love that concept...reminds me of the vision of childhood imagery show that the MOMA had a few years back that was on tour from a collection in NY...still my favorite show to date!

I have to say I preferred the kids' drawings. The artists seemed compelled to give their versions a kind of ominous overtone, threatening, very alien and sci-fi, injecting a tone that I don't think the kids intended. Also, at least some of the kids used bright colors, whereas the artists seemed to adopt muddy, muted, greenish colors reminiscent of things I find in the refrigerator after several months. I wonder what Picasso or Chagall or Miro might have done with these (indeed, one of the kids' drawings reminded me of Miro, if I'm thinking of the right guy)?
